I got a DK2 running on my Surface Pro 3 which is basically a tablet/laptop. Low frame rates but I got it working well enough to run a presentation to senior guys in my company who were fairly blown away (I showed them 'Welcome to Oculus').
It's never going to be high end but it can certainly work for some demos.
(But now I have a Gear VR demos are going to be a lot easier... :D )
