Can my laptop run DK2 ?

Hello all !

Since this question often comes back, let's discuss about this matter on single thread to avoid redudancy of threads.

As far as I am concerned here is my laptop configuration:

I7-3630QM @2.40HZ(8 CPUS)
6gb of ram
AMD Raedon HD 7600M series

I am worried about the GPU, I am sure that I wont be able to run latest games at 1080p/60 fps but do you think that I still can run some demos at a comfortable resolution / fps ?

Thank you for your answers and don't hesitate to ask questions about your laptop as well !

  • I have a high powered MSI brand gaming laptop with 970m video card, for some reason when I plug the rift into the HDMI port the laptop will not recognize the rift. Don't know why but I think it my be related to the HDMI port not being part of the video card, pure speculation .

I decided to get Asus GT51JT instead (it was cheaper). Exact same GPU and CPU, AFAIK it does use Optimus, but Rift runs perfectly smooth (tested built in demo scene and tuscany demo)! Direct mode no problem, zero judder, zero arguments from windows or bios. Yay!!

Edit: Now if only the camera would turn on....

I looked for the reference of this laptop but I didnt find anything are you sure that this is the right reference ? Can you please send me a link of the product in a private message ?
