Can you run outside of the store envoiroment? DK2 and 1.3.

I'm sure I missed something but have been trying to get running again under 1.3. which I downloaded today. When I buid and run my Windows app it launches the store and can't seem to render to the Rift.

Can't find anything in the docs. How exactly do things work now for developing with the DK2 and 1.3?
Zoo.

The answer is no, keep the home open rigqt now and press A everytime you run…

And blame oculus for the poor design :)
  • It may be that you haven't updated your app to the 1.3 SDK. The new Runtime/Store/Home environment only works with content built against the 1.3 SDK. If you let me know what engine you are using, I can help let you know which files you need to download. Hope that helps.
  • Thanks for the reply. After rebuilding everything It now works to a point. I now get the 'Please wait' (on the Rift) after hitting A and it just hangs there displaying 'Please wait...'. The PC screen just shows black but the audio is there so the game is running. The engine is our own. The steps were followed in the migration guide but the Rift related code is not mine. Is there likely to be a step missed out along the way?

I did select the option in the store to allow non store games (but oddly that option has now vanished).

    Hi Drzoo,
You might have already found the answer to this, but just in case here is how I fixed that issue:

In the Oculus app home, select 'Settings', 'General' and check 'Unknown Sources' - it is off by default.

Unfortunately, you still need to have the Oculus app up and running when you start.

I'm using UE4 4.11.1 with PIE VR Preview

The app launches automatically when you run the editor.
  • When the "Please wait.." stays after I pressed the Button A, this means the render thread doesn't submit any frame to the oculus. The thread is blocked or it never reaches the submit function or the submit function returns an error. You may be in one of these cases. :)
