Collaborate? Oculus 3 axis camera gimal

Hi all,
My friend and I want to develop an 3 axis camera gimbal, streaming stereoscopic video back to the oculus, the idea is that you can displace your head in real time.
We are both recently graduated engineers and some of the elements of the project are a little out of our depth, or at least involve an steep learning curve.

If anyone else is interested to jump in on the project we could set up a repo on git hub, maybe parallel hardware?
