Custom IR led can be detected by genuine dk2 camera?

hi, I am wondering ir led like this http://www.terracode.com/IR_Pen/DIY_IR_Pen.html can be detected by the camera that oculus dk2 uses. and how many ir leds do you think we need to attach...

I have seen pictures of the video stream by users, so it should at least possible to tap into it.
