- cyberealityGrand ChampionLooks awesome.
I think games like that (where you just walk around a jungle) will work great in VR. - flawExplorerthat is really cool. love to device. and i love the commentary on the video. lol.
good work. - AnonymousTried it at Laval Virtual 2014, t'was totally new and awesome experience, plus the Cyberith guys are the best, very friendly and enthusiasts about their product and VR. :)

Do tell more! Also, could you please compare it to walking or to other solutions such as the Virtuix Omni? Thanks - renderingpipeliHonored Guest

Is there even anyone out there who had the chance to test both?
AFAIK at Laval they showed prototype 2, guess we will soon see a shiny new prototype 3 :-) - deflixHonored Guest

Totally agreed and this goes a long way in the corporate jungle....;) - TgaudHonored GuestSomething disturb me.
The walking doesn't seem natural.
the fact that the ground is flat, is normally more realistic. but for that you need to have your hips move up & down, because your anckle is supposed to move too, to be realistic.
But in the movie, the hips can't elevate because of the device, so the anckle don't move either.
Its like walking on the street by trying to have absolutely no "headbump", just sliding forward.
You'll walk very strangely, in the same way than the video i think. - renderingpipeliHonored Guest

Not sure if I understand you correctly but the hips can move up and down and the device even tracks this (same movement as if you would duck).
In-place walking might always look strange (the Omni looks a bit less strange in this regard, sadly I couldn't yet test if it *feels* as good as well) - running on a treadmill also looks a bit weird I think ;-)
Can't wait to test the final version of this (+ the Omni). - BlackMageHonored GuestI think the weird look is because his feet don't go very far in front of his body and he plants his fleet flat instead of leading with a heel so the gait looks unnatural. It's almost like skating, which kind of makes sense when you think of a flat low friction surface in your socks. Whether this is better than an omni or a traditional treadmill we won't know until someone gets on all of them for an extended amount of time.
- AnonymousThey should really lend the new prototype to reviewers so we can have a better idea of how the Virtualizer compares to other solutions before pledging not-so-small amounts of money to their KickStarter campaign.
