Device for rapid movement forward
Hi Oculus Developer Forum,
We have been after the searching of a wireless device that allows us to make quick movements forward, because we mainly work with 3D models developed in 3Ds MAX / UNITY at "real scale" for oil installations.
The wireless device closer to what we are looking for is the "MYO" (by Thalmic Labs) and "Leap Motion Controller" but we need to find some other alternative that allows us to successfully launch our next proyect.
If you have some options or alternatives, we are very interested to hear your advice.
Best regards,

- sutekiBHonored GuestHi Marco, by movements forward do you mean a locomotion device like the Virtuix Omni? It's a great way to navigate simulated environments. I saw an architect once who brought a design on a USB stick, plugged it into the computer and within a few minutes he was walking around in the building. Also very useful for training (e.g. oil rigs).
The final production model will have integrated tracking and Bluetooth.
Unless you mean an alternative hand input to Myo? In which case I'd recommend either Sixense STEM or PrioVR. Reactive Grip by Tactical Haptics if you need haptic feedback. - FredzExplorerI guess you want to use it with your hands.
If you only want to navigate by pushing buttons you can simply use a wireless gamepad like the Xbox 360 Wireless Controller (<$40) which is quite popular for Rift usage.
If you want a device that you can use with only one hand you can use the PlayStation Move Navigation Controller (<$10).
If you want to navigate by gesture you can use the PlayStation Move (<$30).
If you want to navigate with precise positioning you can use the PlayStation Move coupled with the PlayStation Eye (<$15) like the Sony Morpheus does for its demos.
The STEM, PrioVR and Reactive Grip are not available at this time. If you want something that works today or in the quite near future they're probably not the best choice. - AlphaOmegaHonored GuestYou have some great minds on this forum with a creative nature.
If these results are what your looking for im happy for you.
If not please give me a little more information on what you are looking for and I will do my best.
