Direct to HMD primary screen reset

Will there be a way to use Direct to HMD without having the primary monitor go black and reset ( similar to when you change resolutions, or adding a display by turning on the HMD in Extend mode ). I'm creating a swap chain in windowed mode and since the HMD is taking over, it would be nice if we could avoid the 3 second black screen on startup.
