DK2 + Emotiv Insight + Vox machinae (Brain Control)

So yeah, we finally got the latest EEG headset from Emotiv yesterday: Emotiv Insight.

We tested it out with Vox machinae, using a cognitive thought-command for activating the jetpack.

Works fine with a few minutes of practice.

If you got any suggestions for more oculus games we should try out, leave them in the comments on youtube or in this thread. :P

  • Good to hear Emotiv might have figured how how to make consumer EEG tech work, I got the Epoc quite a few years ago and it was a nightmare to use at all. If it works it has a lot of intriguing gameplay possibilities.

Yeah, i think the firmware on this insight is better.

It also have dry electrodes, so you can play for hoouuuuuuurs! 8-)

We'll try out half life 2 next, by popular demand from the oculus subreddit.

Half life 2 on the oculus gives you the worst motion/sim sickness when you walk. But because we can allow our brain to directly control the environment (walking by thinking) it could decrease or remove the motion sickness.

We'll probably get another Insight headset later to test out some multiplayer Oculus games. (we have access to multiple oculus rift dk2's)

Oh, and Emotiv themselves commented on our video on facebook, they love it!
