DK2 on Bootcamp (iMac)
Hey guys, So my DK2 arrived today - I updated the firmware and downloaded the latest SDK, exactly as the documentation said. I'm on an iMac desktop with Windows 7 installed on a Bootcamp partition ...

11 years agoDirect To Rift mode is not yet implemented for Mac OS X but Direct To Rift mode works fine for me when my MacBook Pro is booted into Windows. If it's working for you on the Desk or Tuscany demos then it is working.
I suspect the issue you are running into is that many titles do not yet support Direct To Rift mode and those that do sometimes have issues. For these titles you have to do the extended desktop thing. Some titles require the Rift to be the main screen in extended mode which makes navigating the Windows GUI fun. You have to figure out the trick for each title. This is the case even on my PC.
This experience is clunky but remember these are the early days with a developer kit. Software is already being updated pretty quickly and I'm sure they'll have this stuff ironed out by the time the consumer edition comes along.
Also the rotation of the rift screen is normal. They used a portrait oriented screen but mounted it in landscape orientation in the headset. You just need to correct for that like you did using the display setup control panel.
