DLL for the new SDK

Could someone who has Visual Studio compile the SDK into a DLL that I can link to? I'm trying to adapt it to work in MinGW, but I'm running into some problems.

If the SDK just included a DLL, then I could load it with SDL_LoadObject and not have to bother with trying to coerce it to compile with MinGW.

  • jherico maintains a GitHub repository for the SDK, which offers Cmake and DLL support. So you should be able to tell Cmake to target MinGW and use that. Unfortunately, he hasn't updated it for 0.4.0 yet. Although that's not surprising since it has only just come out.

EDIT: Turns out that he has updated it! It is just in a different branch:

Additionally, I have a very minimal wrapper that turns LibOVR into a dll. I've updated it to 0.4.0 and uploaded it in this thread. It is a less elegant solution than tweaking the build system like jherico did, but it works! It might get you by for now until he has time to update his.
  • Ideally there should be a LibOVR.dll bundled with the Oculus Runtime that gets copied to windows\system32. This would make our lives easier..
