Does the Gear VR for the S6 support Chromecast?

Hello,

I'm asking this question because I can connect it to Chromecast through the cast screen option, but the picture on the TV moves for 1 or 2 seconds and then freezes. No matter what I do I can't get Chromecast to work smoothly. I've tried rebooting the Chromecast, I've uninstalled it from my phone and reinstalled it, nothing. I can't get it to work. Anyone have any success or know if this is something that's being worked on? Any help would be appreciated.

  • Same here. Gear VR with Note 4 was working flawlessly with Chromecast. Now neither Gear VR with S6 nor Note 4 won't work. The same issue. It's running smooth about 2 seconds and than freezes (or rather displaying 1 frame from time to time). This screwed up out project :( depending on screen mirroring. I've tested builtin screen mirroring from Samsung with AllShare Cast Dongle and with latest SUHD TV. Same issue there. Exactly the same problems and behaviour as using Chromecast.

I just installed chromecast today to screen cast my Gear VR app onto a Television to show public what happens inside !
But saddly, I have the same issue, the screen freezes and displays from time to time an image.

I tryed to cast some Google Cardboard app and it works smoothly, it seems that the issue is caused by one of the latest updates of the Oculus Gear VR App.

I still have the problem and wasn't able to find a solution.
Did someone here managed to get it work on latest update of the software and SDK ?
