extended vs direct/ juddering
I apologize as im sure this has been covered a hundred times but been reading all the info online I can but am getting confused. :?
Im trying to get rid of juddering as its making me feel sick and most games have it, the few that didnt were amazing so Im trying to have that experience with the majority of the demos.
Ive had my dk2 for two days now and for the simplicity of getting demos to run right on the rift I have been using it in direct mode. This causes all my direct games to run where they should but the majority of them are giving me juddering.
Is extended mode still the way most of you guys run your dk2?
If I set it in extended and make rift primary then I loose all my desktop icons and start button (windows 7)
Can someone give me a list of settings or a tutorial link?
Do i need to set vsync in nvidia control panel :?:
Ive even played around with vr game manager and still cant get rid of judders in most games. :(
Ive switched to a non aero theme in windows.
vsync enabled.
running game manager trying all its different commands.
Also how are you guys seeing your fps in the demos? I used to use afterburner but will it work in dk2?

- ok so... im using the tuscanny "oculusUnityDemoScene" to play around with settings on to try to figure this juddering out.
with dk2 in direct mode and running the demo direct I get extreme juddering.
In extended mode and opening the demo it opens on the wrong screen even if I run it from game manager and force adapter.
If i run in extended mode but open the direct to rift exe of the demo it opens in the rift, in extended mode am I only to open the regular non direct exe? whats the difference?
But any ideas why the regular exe wont open in the rift in extended mode even if I force adapter? - sorry, thought i posted in general discussion, i got my problem figured out anyway
- Hi deezdrama - so how did you figure it out? I have the same problems as you (lot of judder in direct mode and can never get extended mode to work to the rift)
Thanks. - I can't even get direct mode to work. I see the screen turning on for like a millisecond, but after that it just goes black. Was hoping 0.4.3 would solve this problem :(
