- DillonRobinsonHonored GuestWhat are you going to do, cry about it? You're just as bad as the million people on the Oculus subreddit right now bawling their eyes out from hilarious and exaggerated assumptions that they're literally making up.
- jhericoAdventurerWrong forum dude.

- VRoomHonored GuestI was away yesterday so I missed all the riot explosion (happy for that). After reading (or trying to read) r/oculus I was afraid to come here, expecting to see 100 new threads, with the same theme and people screaming their lungs out. I'm so grateful that's not the case.
No, I'm not that happy with this recent turn of events, but at the same time I can see why they did this and what benefits could that bring for CV1. So, let's wait and see.
EDIT: oh wait... I didn't see the general discussion forum... here we go again... :/ - virrorExplorer

Fuck you in the ass oculus. I WILL NOT develop on a Facebook platform, EVER. I feel filthy even being here now that it's contaminated as being part of the the toxic Facebook realm. I don't like Microsoft but I could have accepted it but this, this is total bullshit. I would rather you have not existed at all than to become another claw in Facebooks grasp on humanity.
Couple hundred hours porting allegiance 100% mothballed, guess I get my free time back.
Sounds like you're gonna cry about it. We won't be missing out with you gone. Don't let the door hit you on the way out. Grab some tissues before you leave. - JonnyDragonHonored Guest

HA! You're no better. You think acting the role of " Well fine! Be that way!" Makes you anymore mature! LMFAO
Insulting potential customers and telling them to get the fk out because theyre upset. Wow, I hope you're not a business owner, or in any sort of management. - DillonRobinsonHonored Guest

I know for a fact I'm more mature because I'm going off of direct quotes from Palmer to substantiate my belief that Oculus is not changing for the worse.
These naysayers, on the other hand, are circle-jerking jokes about ads and privacy while making wild claims about how Oculus is ruined without any evidence for this belief. They're bad for PR and they have literally no reason to be angry yet. Facebook may very well ruin Oculus, but I'm not going to be angry until there's evidence that it will/has happened. - MatlockHonored GuestFacebook is simply bad business. They have billions in the bank from investors, not earnings.
Facebooks involvement in oculus can only hurt its future.
Oculus having billions now also can only hurt its future.
Why should oculus even try anymore?
They got paid, and paid big.
Palmer is going to buy an island somewhere, and you will never hear from him again.
This is seriously sad news. :? - TickTakashiHonored Guest

I have my fingers crossed that Oculus will remain virtuous as always, but there is a dimension that you haven't considered here:
Just Imagine you, as a developer, are producing content for gamers. If a large portion of gamers decide they don't like Oculus, whether or not the decision is justified, its going to reduce the reach of your game. There is nothing more to it. Its the same with Wii U, people decided it was horrible from the moment it was released, and subsequently adoption was low and therefore not many folks bother to produce great content for it because the market is just smaller.
I hope that Oculus can somehow show the public that they really haven't screwed things up, otherwise the work many of us have put into the Rift might be for very little.
