Head-Tracking Camera Control Questions (PS3/XBox)
I'm sure it's been asked and answered several times here, so you can direct me to any post that addresses my questions specifically.
A lot of PS3 and XBox games use the R-analog for camera control.
1. Which head-tracking solutions can I use to bind my head-tilting to the in-game camera-control?
2. How do they handle 360-degree turning when the player is in sitting position?
3. Does the head-tracked input get combined with the R-analog input for camera rotation?
I am looking forward to your inputs.
In case it matters, I own a Razer Hydra, and my Rift is shipping soon.

- TipHonored GuestThe rift will not work with the ps3 or xbox. Even if you could somehow reroute your headtracking to the analog stick you couldn't get the warped side by side 3d you need.
Consoles could support the Oculus Rift in the future but right now it's not going to work. Also, I imagine if any of the manufacturers add support they'll do it for the next generation of consoles. - KirenusMeta EmployeeUntil consoles/games are developed with the Rift in mind, there is no simple plug and play set up.
There are ways to get it to work, you may want to check out viewtopic.php?f=26&t=3014 and the associated video. - LindblumExplorerAbove all, it is a display device. Anything that can be displayed, this community will see to it that the challenge will be met to make it work as best it can for the medium. Any tracking solution we can devise would be a huge bonus, though. Thank you, Kirenus, for this link.
- LokiMortmagusExplorerhmmm... maybe this is me displaying my ignorance for all the world to see here, but isn't head tracking camera control for the oculus as simple as adding 2 mercury blobs inside little vacuum containers, like you see in a carpenter's leveling plane tool, but with conductive terminal thingies which would act as switches placed inside the container?
I've assumed from the start that this is what's being done... am I wrong? - TipHonored Guest
