Help with DIY Oculus Rift
Hi all,
I'm thinking of making yet another DIY oculus rift. I've seen this post : http://www.roadtovr.com/build-your-own-diy-oculus-rift-guide/
He uses a dedicated board(Hillcrest Freespace FSRK-USB-2 IMU) similar to the one used in oculus rift. I want to use a gyro sensor coupled with Arduino connected to PC for tracking.
I can make a program that can maybe calibrate and scale gyro sensor data, but what API/software do I use to send the sensor data to a VR-enabled game? Can I use the Oculus Rift SDK? Vireio Perception 2.0 seems like an open-source option for what I want, but I'm not sure if it does what I want or how to do it.
If anyone has attempted this or knows how to do it, can you please point me in the correct direction?

- nkaHonored GuestI can't help you, but i'm just wondering; You want to do this as a goal or to save money?
- AntzyHonored GuestMostly as a goal to make something new and learn along the way, put it up as open-source, and maybe help create a platform for others in the future. If I can somehow save money in the process, I don't really mind... ;)
- CruiserHonored Guestlol. I read the title as "DUI Oculus Rift". Now that would have been interesting. XD

Or you could build an Adjacent Reality tracker. Some references :
