How do you display real time video on rifts?

So I am starting a project trying to use two cameras(for both eyes) to capture video and send them to my computer, then display these live-time video on rifts, so that you could immersely see through the cameras. I know that if you are working with 3D models, you need to use unity and oculus rift is supported there pretty well, but in my case, how (with what kind of software) could I display real-time video on rifts?

THanks

Sorry, I posted this question at the wrong forum the first time
  • I found an extraordinary Rift modification that does just this. It's a weird mod, but the result is.. surreal.

    - Open up the case
    - Remove the screen and electronics
    - Close the case
    - Remove the lens (this wasn't in the steps, but I found that w/o this, there was a bit of distortion)
    - Cut 2 holes in the case where the persons eyes will be

Once I did that, I put on the headset, and the result was, holy crap! Not only has the refresh rate / FPS gone up drastically, the graphic fidelity is insane! I can't believe that no else has done this tbh.

edit: Please don't do this. The idea is to use a USB stereoscopic webcam, a RasberryPi, and use that to project reality into the Rift. With a decent power source, you can move about.
