To imagine...
You are asleep cosy in bed one night, someone breaks in, doesn't wake you up, and uses chloroform on a rag to keep you out of action. They take you to a cold, dimly lit warehouse and tie you to a chair.
You wake up in the chair, unaware of anything, and look around, and think... wtf??? how did I get here? A weird sense of memory loss combined with suspicions of teleportation comes over you.
This works best if you don't remember putting the HMD on of course!
This may or may not happen so vividly in DK1, DK2 or even CV1, to everyone, but that is probably the essence of VR for those who may need to imagine what "presence" should feel like but haven't tried it. This isn't your mere 3D glasses
And it can only get better and better, as graphics and the hardware improve, eventually these will be truly photo-realistic locations. We may need to take amnesia pills to stop us getting conditioned to it (we don't want the 'novelty' to wear off) over years of use, and heart pills to stop us dying from the more stimulating events within!
Bring it on! 8-)
