IPD Measuring Website
I found a site that offers a neat way of calculating your IPD, and hadn't seen it mentioned here:
http://pd.warbyparker.com/
You just need a webcam and a credit card to use as a reference in the pic (don't worry, you only show the back-side to the camera - no numbers).
At the end, it asks you to send your results to the doctor, so it must be a tool for their patients, but I just cancelled out at that point, after I got my measurements.
It worked well for me in Firefox, but it didn't work in Chrome.

- cyberealityGrand ChampionThat site looks legit, but I remember reading about an Android app with the same idea that supposedly stole your credit card information (the imprint of the numbers can usually be seen from the back of the card). Stay safe.
- klasodethHonored GuestAn expired gift card would probably be a good alternative for that purpose.

That was exactly my immediate thought. I would recommend staying away. - WingriderHonored GuestI think I may have a simple solution to the Inter-pupillary Distance and focus issues of the OR. As a professional mariner,
I've used Binoculars throughout my career, With or without glasses the binocular is very easy to use by anyone, at any time with only simple, personal adjustment of the IPD and focus.
Most every Binoculars uses an adjustment knob centered on the device for the user to adjust the binocular view to their specific IPD. Each lens also has a separate and simple "Eye Focus Adjustment capability.
The binocular lens or eyepiece has a soft rubber Boot attached around each eye piece, in the normal (no Glasses position) the rubber boot is pressed lightly to the users eye lids and keeps their eyelashes off the lens'.
For those of us that must wear eye glasses, the user folds in the soft rubber boot allowing the wearers glasses lens to focus closer to the binocular eyepiece.
Having only used my OR a few minutes, I thought it needed this type of IPD focusing mechanism to make it user friendly for everyone. - JDubsHonored Guest

It would be digital vs analog, but I agree it would be an extremely intuitive feature. Put it on the list of action items. - WingriderHonored GuestDigital v Analog - Sony had an Electronic binocular in 2011.

I like the axiom "do what you do very well, Keep it Clean, Simple and Reliable!
Wingrider! - QosmiusHonored Guestif anyone needs to measure theyr Binocular PD i can help you out with that..im a second year optometry student :)
- raidho36ExplorerWell this website look harmless, and it doesn't send your picture anywhere (there's zero network traffic during the test) unless you manually do that after the test, but if you're paranoid you can cover the whole card with fingers or otherwisely obstruct it, you will adjust everything manually anyway, and the card is only there for spartial reference because it has standard dimensions and is easily accessible because everybody have it, a piece of cardboard shaped precisely as the card will do just fine.
- RedAndBlueHonored GuestI used a Lowe's membership card, they just say credit card because that's the standard they are drawing from.
You adjust the slider manually anyway, so you could just cut a piece of paper to the width of a credit card and hold that up.
I do wish you could zoom up though, it seemed like it can be off up to 2 mm based on tiny pixel shifts.
Oh well, time to go to the eye doctor. - cegliHonored GuestVery interesting! I just used a bus pass, anything credit card sized will do that has a mag strip. I tried it about 4 times, and it got the same measurements every time, so it's pretty repeatable at least. It measured me about 2mm smaller than the oculus configuration utility... I wonder which is right?
