Is this a bad video panel?

Does the Rift work as a monitor in Windows (which OS version?)? Don't the Oculus demos start or do they also have corrupted renderings?
Yup, it's detected as a monitor (windows 7) .. and there's an option to use in legacy extended display mode..
The oculus demo in native mode doesn't send any video to the device.
