Issues with last Oculus Desktop 47.0.0.264.341 (47.0.0.264.341) (december Update)

since last week I was able to play perfectly fine my Assetto Corsa with my Oculus Quest 2 with my PC (Ryzen 5, Nvidia 970 GTX Video Card, 16gb Ram).

Last week I was asked to update the Oculus App on  my PC. After the update, the Oculus App forced a reboot on my device, I saw a little progress bar different than the usual one (I guess a firmware update or something like that), and after this update my gaming system is basically screwed up.

Since I installed the update,  I can no longer use "Oculus Quest" as Rendering VR engine, because it has stuttering, artifacts, distorded images and is slow as hell in general, while, on the other hand, if I choose "OpenVR" as rendering engine, everything works. OpenVR is generally slower and has worse performance than the native VR rendering provided by Meta, but at least it works. So the update screwed something, so for me it's not possible to play anymore using the native VR engine, and there is of course is no way to downgrade the firmware or to install the previous Oculus App version (as usual nowadays.. once you update, you are screwed forever).

The problems I have are: very bad and slow performance, if I turn quickly left and righ my head, images become heavily distorted, sometimes i have flashing inside the visors (like it skips some rendering frame), sometimes I have visual artifacts, so it's a nightmare to play with Oculus Quest rendering engine. Using OpenVR everything works (slower and with worse performance, but it works at least)

I am using latest Nvidia Driver, latest Oculus Software and latest firmware on my headset

I already tried unistalling and reinstalling Culus desktop software, restore default graphics settings on my Quest 2 via Oculus Desktop Software, removed and reconfigured completely my Quest 2, tried also with a bunch of different Nvidia Video Drivers and different video settings. Nothing works, I always have the same issues, so looks like the problem is in the rendering engine or the updated firmware that changed something that was working just perfectly fine until the update was deployed.

  • Yeah oculus link hasnt even worked for me for a while. It is stuck on loading indefinately when i try to link. I even gave my headset a factory reset and the problem still persisted. I think it may be a problem with oculus since it worked fine before but after the update the pc app had somethng wrong with it so im trying to figure out how to go back to a previous version

  • Oculus Link hasn't even functioned for me in a while, I know that. When I try to link, it is constantly stuck loading. Even after performing a factory reset on my headset, the issue persisted. It worked perfectly before the upgrade, but the pc app had some issues afterward, so I'm trying to figure out how to revert to an earlier version because I think there may be an issue with Oculus.
