Leap Mount - Experiences?
I'm trying to decide if I should order the Leap Motion mount and wanted to see if a anyone has gotten theirs yet and if so what your experience has been like?
Hopefully the answer is yes since I have been drooling at all the cool stuff I could build since the announcement last week but $20 is real money and I want to make sure it is living up to people's expectations?

- GeraldExpert ProtegeI have not yet tried it, but I doubt it is not worth the $20 since it might give fresh life to your Leap - especially if you want to create with it.
- alexcolganProtegeIf you have access to a 3D printer (and don't mind grabbing some safe adhesive at your local hardware store), you can download the official CAD file here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:445866 (Be sure to print in high-res mode for best results.)
Beyond that, double-sided tape will also do the trick. The advantages of the mount are basically:- convenience (so you can take the Leap on and off easily),
- consistency (the same angle and positioning across all demos),
- cleanliness (we use the same 3M adhesive as GoPro; it comes off with a blow dryer, and doesn't leave a scummy residue like tape)
- looks (nothing wrong with DIY solutions, but the setup with the mount looks pretty cool)
You can definitely still play with the demos (including infrared vision passthrough) with one of these alternative setups :D
EDIT: Besides double-sided tape, some devs have used Velcro for the convenience factor. - lmaceleightonHonored Guest! I plan on using 'Polycaprolactone', its the little white plastic pellets that melt with boiling water. It makes a perfect fit that snaps the leap into place, and then you can just mount it however you want, but if I had access to a 3D printer I would go that route;O)
- flawExplorersounds totally cool. i have the leap and the oculus but i have yet to make that quantum leap and put the two of them together. :P
- cbrpnkHonored GuestI've decided to make my own mount for Leap Motion. After using 3d-printed mount I realize that rift surface curvature make it fall off if I use non-aggressive tape.
So this is that I did. I have not tested it though.

- MillsyDevHonored GuestI am currently doing some research into 3D interaction techniques and as part of my research Ive put the two together using the mount. Its definitely worth getting. I would recommend an adjustment to the angle of the mount as having the device facing outwards at 90 degrees which can cause fatigue on the arms after time. bar that go for it/
