Im using the New Unity and Maya Trial Mode to develop a Game.
Is it be possible to share my game here (oculus sharing category) using this softwares? or is it not legal?

Thanks! :D

  • If you are using Unity Free, then you can distribute. With the Trial version you cannot.

Not sure about Maya, you may want to check on their website for details.
  • For the hell of it, I just read the entire Maya trial version license agreement, all 13850 words of it, in a 6 line scrolling text box on the download page. :)

Apart from melting my brain, here's what I spotted: Exhibit B.8 and section 6.3 combined imply that content made with a trial version of Maya is for use by the licensee only (anything you make with the trial is only for you to trial the program, not to give out to others).

Also there's a fun bit where Autodesk can demand (with 15 days notice) access to your records, systems and facilities to verify you aren't breaking the license agreement. :)

It's probably safer to learn Blender. The cheapest Maya that's suitable for indie games is Maya LT, which is $795 and has a lot of limitations (such as no MEL scripting, no Python scripting, no plugin sdk, etc).
