Linux DK2 Developement

Hello all. Just a quick question to confirm something. I've previously developed some software on OSX and Linux for the DK1 sometime ago. I'm back on a similar project with the DK2. Am I right in thinking the current SDK for Linux is Oculus SDK Source V0.6.0.1-beta?

Cheers

Ben

Sadly all SDKs after 0.5.0.1-beta are Windows only.

You can use 0.5.0.1-beta, but the support is unfinished, marked "experimental", and has a number of well known dealbreaking problems. It's also becoming much harder to run 0.5.0.1 without segfaulting on an up-to-date system, and this problem will only get worse. It's also completely incompatible with up-to-date SDKs. If you want to develop for Linux you may want to consider if Oculus is still a good choice of HMD.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news! :(

Hey, no problem, thanks for the reply.

I've not heard of the deal breakers but a quick look around the forums does suggest there have been issues getting the rift to work on Linux.

    Cheers!
