LIVE RC ALPHA BETA

On the Dashboard for builds, my options are LIVE RC ALPHA BETA. I get most of these but what is RC?

EDIT: wait, it stands for Release Candidate. Doy.

But also how do these channels function? LIVE will push new versions to the user, right? I can set up subscribers to channels, so if I set someone up to be subscribed to the Beta channel, they'll get pushed new versions put on the BETA channel instead of the LIVE channel?

    Strictly speaking, this was a Gear app, so if it needs to be moved to a development forum, maybe it should go in the Mobile Development forum.

    Though I guess that brings up another question, how much does any of the submission process differ when building to different platforms?
