MAG II Gun and a New Mag Gun

Mag II has 1 main disadvantage, it doesn't allow 360 degree VR, doesn't even do 180 well. This may change.

So I did some customer service type work, and ended up talking to someone in the Pollux LtD group, and I soon have a meeting with the inventor (via internet) and I'm going to be addressing issues with the Mag II controller with VR applications.

It's a good start, and I have some engineers interested.

I have ideas such as a lens cap, which allows it to be used without a traditional monitor/TV, down to stripping parts down and making a Hydra (better than Hydra) setup which of course would be wireless.

These guys at Pollux are from China, and there is a language block, but i'm going to try my best speaking to whom ever in regards to having a VR gun or controller for VR.

There is great interest in this, so I'm trying to get people moving on this.

  • guns that can do 360 with VR would be pretty cool :-) 360 degree duck hunt!
  • I had an Idea of Cutting the gun in half, right where both hands rest for the d-pad and controller pad respectivitly, maybe alittle cutting and stuffing the gyro in one, then mold alittle plastic to cover it up (or tap) and get it working around the 180 glitch. I got a mag for almost free, so im going to break it down and see what I can do.
  • MAG II GUN can work well with Oculus which we have tried it in Alienware press release conference in July 26, 2013 Shanghai. And I believe it will work better later.
MAG II GUN's technology is similar as Oculus: MAG series include MAG II GUN and MAG P90 which both applied 9-axis MEMS Sensor as hardcore (a three-axis gyroscope, three-axis gravity acceleration and a three-axis geomagnetic) and improved by more suitable game gun motion based on the AHRS air gesture arithmetic.
what's more, MAG II GUN also use G-MATE's patent: Virtual potentiometer
  • Pollux is our HK distributor. After Shanghai Alienare release conference, we are very interested in making it work with Oculus.
If you have more information you can contact MAG II GUN's developer and manufaturor: G-MATE

  • Mag II has worked wonders in the games that don't typically support "Controller" type formats, ones whom just support keyboard and mouse. This has it's plus and downs. The plus is it fits that area where no hydra or xbox controller type will work, allowing you to handle what the keyboard and mouse do with the Mag II gun.

Some demo's for the rift work that way, and it seems to add to the immersion when using the Mag gun.

I think again people at Pollux have the advantage of resources and time on they're hands. They can, and very easy, make a VR solution that would be the standard for today.

I think it's something everyone would greatly appreciate and would complete and maybe beat Six-sense. Possibility is there, I would invest in a skilled RandD person to handle this lead.
