Mirroring Question with DK2
Ok, so as the updates have stated, there will be a way to mirror the dk2's vision. Is this effectively the same as it currently is with the DK1? If it's a separately rendered window, will there be a way to "undistort" the image? This is mainly for people streaming, it'd be nice to not have a distorted image for people watching on the stream.
That's pretty much it. If not, I'm sure there'd be a way to undistort the video with a plugin of some sort for streaming software, but that'd be kind of odd.

- HOCgamingHonored GuestI've been hunting the internet today for ways to "undistort" the rift footage. As a YouTuber, I don't particularly care for doing it live (necessarily, though more features the better), and was surprised by the utter lack of results.
I did find this: http://soft.viarum.com/hmd-video-converter/ - but apparently it only works for the DK1, whereas I'm using the DK2.
Undistorting the footage, as in your post, is almost necessary for viewers to be able to better enjoy the experience outside the rift. Any help with this would be appreciated. - CaliberMengskExplorerWell, if the video feed is going direct to rift, without having the extended mode on, then it's going to be extremely hard to capture the video going to the rift. If it's still being sent over hdmi, you could capture card it I suppose. That software also only works on an after the fact rendering, meaning you couldn't livestream it that way, which is what I was originally asking about. This is also harder now due to the more intense chromatic aberration in the DK2. I'm sure there's ways to remove it again and undistort the image, but it's more a question of how to do it rather then can it be done.
Personally, I'd like to see an option to display a non-distorted view in a second window, specifically for streaming. I don't know how much of a performance hit that would be though, nor if it's even possible in something like unity or unreal. You could easily do it in multiplayer games just by having a second instance open with the rift off, but a lot of games don't allow multiple instances. (Could be cool to have a spectator specific game mode for streaming purposes.)
