modding oculus sceen?
hello there!
i have a (maybe bad) idea... as we know, oculus is provided by the galaxy note 3 screen... wich is in HD (but not enough!)
i have a LG G3... which have a 4K screen.
i already have look in the oculus and disassembled my G3 to connect the screen to my oculus. EXCEPT the position of the connector is not good... actually i don't connected them
i have already ordered a relay to connect the G3's screen to my rift in the good positon. but i have a question... is it a good idea or something really wrong? like some "pssssssht" and a bad smoke exiting the oculus?
did someone have already try before?

- Interesting idea. did you go through with it and how were the results?
- don't try already... still waiting for the connecting cable... since one month :?
- What is the refresh rate ?
I had to cancel my order of a LG 4K screen for my computer after looking on the net I discover that the refresh rate was 3O fps in 4K mode and 60 fps in HD mode.
If you have the same limitation it will not work so well with VR. - it was already observed that you would get a hard time to run properly most of the games at such resolution.
so even if possible, 4k would make the device too expensive to run.
for instance the only solution to increase resolution is to go with dual 1920x1080 screens. "eltrum" wrote:

Probably assumed Quad HD was the same thing as 4K. Exactly what LG was hoping would happen.
