Most Demos are on the wrong screen.
Dear Oculus Forum, i need help, what am i doing wrong ?
When i start a demo, or even the DIRECT TO RIFT.exe, it always shows up on my screen, not the rift.
I tried, both display modes, the light is blue, everything works fine, when i move the rift i can actually move my ingame view i see on the monitor, but its just not on the rift, help me please.
I can't seem to find anyone else with this problem.

- vettaheadHonored Guestthe direct to rift mode only works in the the direct mode (first setting on the config tool)
the extended mode is for all other games, like elite dangerous.
make sure the blue light is off in direct mode (until the demo starts) i - infashionistasHonored Guestreally, but i don't get this problems with my devices.

I get this sometimes. I think it's mainly from trying to play demos that don't support the DK2, only the DK1. It's not always obvious that there's no DK2 support on some demos. - dougsnashHonored GuestI'm also having the issue with demos not opening on the Rift when running the DK2 Launch to Rift mode. I have tried the Rift on both my desktop and my gaming laptop with the same result. It is about fifty fifty whether a demo will open on the Rift or on the main screen when I use the Direct to Rift mode. When I switch to the extended desktop mode, it is just plain old messed up with the displays turned 90 degrees to the left and I have not been able to figure out why yet (I've only had my DK2 for two days).
One utility I did find which seemed to help with some of the demos I've tried is VR_Game_Manager by Bilago. This utility will force some demos to open properly on the rift as opposed to opening on the main screen. Game Manager is not perfect and still has issues with some of the demos I have tried but it is better than nothing.
Both my desktop and my laptop use NVidia display cards so I'm wondering if the failure to launch problem might be with NVidia's garbage configuration tools rather than a specific Rift issue. Either way, its been an issue to find demos which will run. Heck, even Oculus' own Tuscany Unity Demo won't go to the Rift without using the Game Manager. I guess this is why Oculus warns consumers not to buy the DK2 as it is really a developers tool.

Oculus Rift Newbie - eagleeyezProtegeSome direct to rift demos do actually work better if you are in extended mode. Just wait a few more seconds for it to start up on the rift.
If the demo is on your main monitor press win+shift+right arrow.
Take a look at this what I wrote yesterday.
