Not sending to right screen!
Hi everyone
I am having a problem getting the DK2 to work. It's my first oculus, and only the test game in the "Oculus VR" works in HMD mode.
If i run the Oculus in extended mode, all games show up halway on my desktop and halfway on the Rift.
How do I fix this??

- markageHonored GuestI have this issue too.
HMD mode doesn't work at all for me actually (AMD Radeon 7850), but if I put the Rift in extended mode the test demo will show up correctly inside the Rift. Every other game is split behind both screens, even if the Rift is set to my 'main' display in the Windows display preferences. If my regular LCD monitor is set to the main display, then games will just open in 2d on my monitor and not the Rift.
It seems I have to launch games through the second desktop displayed on the Rift, but the left and right eye are reversed so everything looks distorted/misaligned. I set it to Landscape (flipped) mode which fixed the orientation problem but I still get the misalignment. I go cross-eyed trying to find the button to launch the games through the Rift display, and then the games either look misaligned/distorted (Radial-G DK2 demo), or split between both the monitor desktop and the Rift 'desktop' with weird colors and distortion.
Reinstalled GPU drivers, rebooted a thousand times, same thing. Tuscany/Openworld demo in the Oculus SDK folder won't even load, it's just a black screen. The only thing that works correctly is the test demo inside the ConfigUtility, where hitting the button will send it directly to my Rift in extended mode, which is how I'm assuming everything else is supposed to work.
I've heard of OpenGL issues with AMD cards so should I just wait for a new SDK so I can run everything through HMD? - RupertVanDaCowHonored GuestHave the same Problem here (nVidia Card 600 Series, current Driver)
with other demos pulling the window to the rift-screens top side, to maximize it there works, but on tuscany and radial-g it does not... - anntastic010Honored Guestsame problem here!! When I load radial G the display that should be going through the right eye is on the left hand side and viceversa.
Does anyone have a workaround for that? - anntastic010Honored GuestJust found a work around! haha
1. open radial-G SP Demo (should be an icon on your desktop)
2. pick your screen res (I chose 1920x1080 and maximum graphics quality)
3. MOST IMPORTANT STEP: CHECK THE WINDOW BOX.
4. Check Oculus Mode before game play while still on our desktop screen
5. once in game play move the windowed screen over to your EXTENDED (portirat) DK2 screen and
6. Fit the game to where your eyes feel comfortable and you can see the whole cockpit in our view
7. Play game!
Tip: I changed both backgrounds of my desktop and DK2 screen to black because you can't see the desktop background but it just creates a more immersive feel - TheSisko1978Honored GuestThat still does not fix the issue of "When I open the demo or any other game that supports Oculus, it should just appear within the Oculus Headset. I should not have to move a window over to the extended screen, nor have to fuss with display settings. I just received my DevKit2 and this is definitely disappointing. Just to get it working I had to change some display settings, set the Oculus as an extended desktop, then move the demo window over to that "monitor"... For demo purposes you should be able to have the Oculus show you and see what the Oculus sees on one of the screens at the same time. That is definitely not happening.
Did I miss a step that is not in the manual or is this just not the way it works currently? - LoppmannHonored GuestDear all, I have same problem... can someone from the Oculus team comment on that please?
Thx,
Dirk. - nuclearExplorerThis is obviously a bug in the program you're trying to run. If you can't realise that, you probably shouldn't have gotten a DK2.
- cyberealityGrand ChampionThe only way a game would be half on one screen and half on the other is in windowed mode. However, you should not be using windowed mode with the Rift. If you have a choice, make sure to choose full-screen.
In Extended mode you will want to click on the "DirectToRift.exe" for the game. This should open just on the Rift. Some games may have problems and force you to set the Rift as the primary monitor. Can you try those things and see if they help at all? - FictionXHonored GuestI have the Rift in extended mode "to the right" of my monitor. Apparently, several Unity demos expect it to be to the left (or simply the "main" monitor.. I'm not sure).
In any case, the way I get around it is by pressing Shift while opening the (Unity) program.. This brings up the config screen where you can choose resolution - and in several cases, there's also a drop-down option to choose which screen to display the demo on. I choose the one with the highest number, which starts the demo on my Rift.
If the option to choose adapter isn't there, I add a shortcut to the "Direct to Rift"-executable, and add -adapter1 to the command.
.. I hope it helps. - JewlzHonored Guest

Radial G is an absolute nightmare to run on the DK2 - in fact, I can only run it out of Oculus mode - the moment I initiate the checkbox for Oculus, I just get a black screen, so I have absolutely no idea what is going on there.
Gave up trying to sort it out today, so uninstalled it until something stable appears.
Worked great on my DK1 though :(
