Oculus development schedule?

I was wondering what is the development schedule/goal points for when the Oculus would be moved to the consumer market, I found several threads that pointed to obstacles but couldn't find any kind of list. I tried searching for info but couldn't find anything gathered in one area, so I was wondering if I just wasn't looking right or hoping to get as much of a gathering as possible at this stage.

  • There are not many hard facts beside rumours and speculations.

    * We know a consumer Rift is planned.
    * Release should be 2014, so far that's reasonable.
    * Resolution is planned to be FullHD or more - given the working FullHD prototypes I'd say that's a save bet.
    * Pricing was planned to be comparable to the DevKit.

This pretty much ends our facts. But we know what Oculus is working on, but we don't know if we will see any of this in the first consumer Rift:

    * Android support (for phones and/or embedded) - Carmack is currently looking at Android development (look at his Tweets)
    * G-Sync support is interesting for HMDs but the panels considered *so far* would not support it (look at Carmacks Tweets)
    * Tracking of head translations (not just rotation) - Oculus is looking into optical tracking (cameras), just look at the open job positions!
    * Eye Tracking? This was new to me as well, but the open job descriptions look like they want to play around with the idea...

What of this will be present in the consumer version? I hope for translational tracking and it sure has a high priority but we don't know how well it will work after this short development time. We don't have much hard facts, so let's wait and see...
  • My best guess would be

    DK2 Preorders: Jan/Feb
    DK2 Ships: April/May
    Consumer: October/Nov.
