P5 glove
Hello peeps,
Quick question: Has anybody tried to use the P5 glove with the DK2 yet? I know, it's quite an old input device, but it has 6 axes and positional detection, so it should be of some use in an VR setup... although, it's IR based, much like the OR, so it could interfere.

The P5 is a low cost device, and the IR tower can perform basic 6DOF position tracking. However, the accuracy and operating field is very limited (even back then), and you will spend lots of time with your arm held out in front of the tower in order to use the glove. When I first bought mine, the plan was to add an IMU. I got it working, but dumped the project when I discovered 3D printing (i.e. I no longer needed to salvage the device's parts/enclosures).
Personally, I would just wait until one of the various kickstarter projects starts selling a solution for that purpose. Otherwise, you'll just waste your time trying to accommodate the outdated hardware.
