Position tracking mod to DK1 support by sdk 0.3.x
Would it be possible to get/make some form of middle ware to be able to use a different camera a la PS3's Eye Move Motion camera and a bunch of ir LED's attached to the DK1's outer shell so it can be ...
You could build an attachment that hooks a point light system onto the rift.

I was actually thinking of doing just that actually until I can get the new one, too bad they didn't give a discount to people who got DK1:O/
You could also use a Wiimote to track up to 4 different points:

and on his site you'll see all kinds of interesting things. If you get any of them to work be sure to let us know here on the forums. I know I would love to see any home built project for gaming/VR, as I myself have hardware motion controller in the works for the rift.
