positional tracking camera placement

Hello,

Is there any information on how to place the positional tracking camera, please?
What I have found for now is that the camera should be between 0.5m and 2.5m in front of the user but I am looking for more precise information.

I work on a cockpit and I need to know what is the best placement for the camera to update my CAD before building it.
