Positional tracking not working
The title says it all. I unhooked my DK1 and tossed into the pile of computer junk sitting in my office, unboxed my new DK2, hooked it and the tracker camera up to my PC, installed the latest runtime, recalibrated IPD, and tried the rift world demo that comes with the latest SDK. Unfortunately, I couldn't see any facility for displaying that positional tracking is working, and no matter what way I was looking or aimed the camera, or in what position I mounted the camera, there was nothing resembling head tracking going on.
Windows (7 64bit) showed it as a valid device in the device manager. Are there any tricks I'm missing? Are there any utilities to test that the positional camera actually works? I may have a dud, I've been at it for an hour. Thanks!

- AnonymousThe easiest way to test positional tracking is probably with the Config Tool Demo Scene (the desk scene), not OculusWorldDemo.
- If you launch the config tool, does it show a serial # for your camera? Or does it just say "Waiting for Camera"?
- Did you upgrade your DK2 to firmware version 2.11, since it ships with 2.10?
- Did you connect the sync cable (the 2.5mm cable) between the camera, and the DK2 cable (where it splits into the USB + HDMI cables by your PC)? - hotspoonsHonored GuestI suppose I didn't read the instructions and didn't realize there was a sync cable. Positional tracking is working well now, thanks!
- AnonymousMy config file just says waiting for camera. I've tried many things. Unplugging the camera to other USB ports. Unplugging the sync cable and re-plugging it. Nothing works (on my Windows 7 Desktop). Now I tried hooking the Rift up to my laptop and got the positional tracking to work on there (Windows 8 Laptop). I deleted my Logitech software so it wouldn't interfere. Nothing works ;-;
- kevingullingExplorerI was having an issue with my positional tracker and found that I had to "squeeze" the usb connector in a bit more even though it already appeared snug.
