Project GAUNTL33T Haptic Feedback Glove Help Wanted!
Project Gauntl33t
We are working on a haptic feedback glove. The glove will be wireless and provide hard and soft feedback to the user to give the users a sensation of holding objects in the game. Our device should make a good pair with STEM, MYO, PrioVR, and other new tracking solutions. If you are interested please join our facebook group. https://www.facebook.com/groups/536642796371093/
Newest Prototype! Gauntl33t Lance. Early Images
This prototype will use raspberry pi and use a bluetuth dongle to be wireless.

- cyberealityGrand ChampionSounds awesome. Good luck.
- redslashaceHonored GuestThank you cybereality. :D We will do the best we can!
- ubergeeksevenHonored GuestI have been working on this exact device for a few months now. I have a 3d printer and CNC lathe and CNC mill to make prototypes. I also pitched the idea to totes, the glove manufacturer and if I produce a prototype, they will partially back development. I wanted this to be refined by the community and kept open source, so naturally arduino is a good platform for this. I have been lurking around waiting for others to announce a similar idea so that I may introduce myself. I live in Cincinnati Ohio and I haven't found anyone else in this area that has interest or a background in which they might be able to add to the project. I would very much like to add my abilities and tools to your project if you want. I'm excited about the future of this and since this project is an obvious step towards our simulated future, I wasn't too be involved.
- MickmanProtegeI really like the sound of this ... especially since its related to Arduino. I'm fiddling around with Arduino & Unity. I ahve several robot servos functioning with a small game I've developed.. but you're talking sensors yes .. what sort of haptic feedback will a user experience ??
- ubergeeksevenHonored GuestI am working on a part for the finger tips to sense touch using air bladders and to feel the fingers sliding on a surface in multiple directions using a custom part I'm currently working on. But, sensor input could be anything including virtual in game sensors and external sensors like flex potentiometers or temperature sensors and anything else. Recreating reality means sending reality and modeling the reactions in the game to reflect reality.
- redslashaceHonored GuestThank you everyone for your interest in the project :D. I would love to meet with anyone who is interested in working on the project. We are hoping by the new year to obtain a provisional patent or patent so we can be more open on this forum about our project, post pictures, videos, etc, and apply to take our project to Maker Fair in California . Starting in 2014, we would love to have distant collaborators join the project. What i can say is that we will be utilizing the analogue outputs and inputs provided by the Arduino to control the gloves feedback in a more advanced way than just simulating solid objects. While our project is light and comfortable several of the parts we are currently using are stock parts, that we would like to replace with smaller, lighter, and quieter parts whether they be custom made or otherwise. I would love to in a small setting meet with those who would like to join the project team prior to December as well as discuss improvements to the design. Is there anyone who would be available for a meet up in Texas prior to 2014?
- ubergeeksevenHonored GuestMeeting in Texas may be possible. Is this for a demonstration in person? If this is the case, I can try and find a way. But remotely meeting through video Could work. Imagine, an in person meeting could one day soon be using a virtual world and this project could lend to that experience. As a reminder, I have confirmation from totes glove manufacturing, that they want to invest in this type of device if a secondary funding round is needed after the production of working prototypes. They will also lend their glove designers for creating a glove that looks better than anything I could create. Not so confident in my ability to make patterns for mass producing gloves.
- redslashaceHonored GuestYes if people can actually meet in person I would be willing to live demonstrate. Like mentioned in previous posting I do not have a game demo yet, however I can demonstrate basic functionality. If someone would like to come and integrate it with a Unity demo that they have made I would be more than willing to let them.
- redslashaceHonored GuestI would like to host an Any Meeting next weekend to talk with members of the community who are interested in this project. If Saturday October 5th at 12pm-2pm CST
is a good time please rsvp
PS Any Meeting does not require downloading software it is a free video/ audio chat sight. - ubergeeksevenHonored GuestOn my calendar. Plenty of time to get a somewhat organized list together.
