Nobody is at the point of having a "dirt cheap" solution. It isn't just the wireless that makes STEM expensive in its current form, and "improved Hydra" is what STEM is. Its current design is about rapid iteration using mostly off the shelf components so we can develop as quickly as possible, not mass market scale production. We will get there, but that will be in a future iteration and there are no easy shortcuts.
