Recommendations for PC configs for Oculus?

Can a few people share their recommendations for PC configurations required for:
A. High end Oculus Rift playback/use
B. Developing Oculus Rift VR content.
Thanks!

  • The machine to get is the best one you can afford to buy.

In general, Nvidia GPUs and Intel CPUs will be better performers.

    Stay away from laptops.
  • Get one of the latest Nvidia generation cards, plenty of RAM for the 3D modeling you will / might do and you are pretty much good to go.
  • i5-4670K /8gb ram 1600mhz ,gtx980, psu min 800W and you are good to go. if i were to spend more i would get fast SDD memory for system and aplications. If i were more interested in pure content creation and video edition i would chose some high end i7 + got like 32 GB of ram
  • Well of course it is different for everyone... but here is what I have and it works great. I am getting 75 FPS on the DK2 with 4.4 Runtime "Direct To Rift".

    GA-Z97X-Gaming G1
    EVGA GeForce GTX 970 Superclocked
    16GB RAM HyperX
    Intel Haswell 4.0ghz - i7-4790k
850 Watt EVGA Gold Power Supply
    Water Cooled
Dual Intel 500GB SSD - One for System/One for Apps
    Windows 8.1

This particular EVGA Mobo will handle QUAD SLI if that gets resolved for VR... It is best to run in a single GPU configuration currently from all I have read.
