Rift Display Mode - Direct HMD crashes

It's probably an issue with the dual GPU (Nvidia Optimus) as that is known to cause problems.

This needs to be made a priority; if the "Direct" mode is the recommended way to go for people using Oculus Rifts and yet to this day folks can't get this mode to work consistently across platforms then it becomes extremely difficult to develop experiences for the Oculus Rift.
Senior Oculus engineers need to be on this; and not just the one-off guy in the back of the office.
