Selecting 'Extended Desktop to HMD' results in Blue Screen !
Hi all,
If I go into the "Rift Display Mode" and try to switch to 'Extended Desktop to HMD' mode
I get a Blue Screen in Windows (didn't see that in years!!!).
So I'm stuck for now on "Direct HMD Access from Apps"...
Anybody else had this happen to them ??

- eepoole4Honored GuestWhat is the cause of the BSOD? BlueScreenView is a free app that will allow you to view your minidumps in an understandable fashion.
What resolution and refresh rate is your main display?
I am assuming you have your main display hooked to one Dual Link DVI, then the Rift hooked up with the HDMI to DVI adapter? I think with the age of this card you may not be able to display 2 simultaneous displays at 1080p, assuming that is what you're trying to do.
Have you tried uninstalling/reinstalling GPU drivers and the Oculus Runtime? - AntDX316Honored Guest

wow 9600 GT to 980GTX is a huge step up - cyberealityGrand ChampionCan you send me the crash dump? I can have someone take a look.
One thing I can think of is apps that use DirectX11 would not work on a 9600 GT. - SilverVRHonored Guest

Actually - I had a GeForce 580,
That I accidently destroyed after spraying WD-40 on it...
(I thought I was grabbing the aif-pressure thingie)
So the 9600 is just a backup I had laying around.. - SilverVRHonored Guest
