Should I buy an Xbox controller?
I'm just prepping for the arrival of my DK2, (it's processing, so should be soon).
So I've noticed that a lot of the demos and games make use of an Xbox controller as the standard controller. But I don't recall seeing any mention anywhere of the PS3 controllers. I own 2 PS3 controllers, can I use these with Motionjoy to replace the Xbox controllers or is it not that simple?
And if I have to buy an Xbox controller, can I pick an Xbox One controller or does it have to be an Xbox 360? Because I'm browsing the Futureshop site here in Canada and the Xbox 360 and Xbox One controllers both sell for the same price, $60. So I'd rather get the latest model.
thanks,

- MilkoHonored GuestYou've probably sorted yourself already, but here's my take on it just in case.
Get a cheap 360 and forget about it. Second hand even. No vibration - doesn't matter.
Why? Well, for starters it's cheap, it's compatible with most games/demos out of the box.
Plug and play, no setup required.
Vibration, dual-shock, blah, blah. Imagine wondering in the woods of Skyrim, or playing the UE4 Shooter demo, or even TF2. There's nothing for a few minutes and then *bzzzt* that thing in your hands that isn't your sword, bow or BFG starts vibrating...well, how exactly does that help you get immersed in the game if something is periodically distracting you!? And it's not even remotely like the thing that you are holding in the game!
So, simply put no standard gamepads are relevant to the VR world,
with the exception of flight sim specific joysticks and steering wheels.
Once input devices like Stem, Kinekt v2 etc become the norm - get one of these!
Partly with the money you saved by getting a cheap old 360 thanks to that friendly guy on the forums :P - saviorntProtegeFTW!!
You can't be considered "elite" unless you play with one of these. Yes.. the original nintendo gamepad updated for USB. You'd be such a noob to use an Xbox controller.. imho.
