Signing the APK for Manual Distribution

I know that for development a developer osig file is required. However our app is not aimed at any sort of store, like the Oculus Store. Rather, this app will be preloaded on a number of devices at a exhibition. What is the process to enable the apk file to be installed on non-development devices in this case? This is for Gear VR devices.

  • If you control the devices in the exhibit, you can just load their osig files into your project and it should be OK.

    I logged a support ticket and official response is essentially, this isn't possible and everything has to go through Oculus Home submission process.

    As you say, we can get their device IDs using the Sideloader App, it was just an extra step.
