Sinking Submarine

Hey guys !

So this is an old idea I had few years ago. I was watching Titanic and was thinking how much I was fascinated by the idea of that big ship slowly sinking with people trying to find the best way to survive. Suddenly I thought : "Hey ! It would be amazing if we could play a survival game inside the Titanic. Everything would happen like it did in reality and you would have to survive as long as possible but free to do so in any way you want."

Then I realized that in such a game the player could stay on the main deck and wait for the whole ship to sink, so I had an other idea instead : "A submarine !"

So here it is :

You are trapped in a huge sinking submarine, with at least few decks, many many rooms, that you are free to explore. Since the submarine is sinking, pressure is getting higher and higher and things start to go bad. Water starts getting in, systems start to malfunction, and after a certain time the whole ship gets crushed and you die (you may of course die drowned, electrocuted or by many other ways). The goal would be to survive as long as possible. For that you would have the ability to move (for example wait at the safest part of the submarine), to use many items (health, food, proper water, different tools), play with systems (close doors, transfer energy from one section to an other, repair what's broken) and many other stuff that I have in mind (or not yet) or that you may suggest ;) !

What about the rift ?

Well that's what made me think back about it (and also the topic of the most evil used of the Rift). I already loved the idea of this horrible survival game inside a sinking submarine, but being able to BE there, to actually walk on the half-filled corridors, with the blinking red lights, the sound of the alarms and the bending steel... I guess this would be 10 times better :D !

I don't think this would be the hardest game ever to make with Unity. I am not really good at scripting but I already see how the basic stuff could me but together, and being a 3D artist I have the skills to make the environment. I think I would have to build different sections that I would be able to script and put together inside unity to make the entire sub interior. Of course if anyone wants to help that would be great (even just by giving ideas and suggestions).

So what do you think about it ?
