UPDATE: The announcement has been made official, as indicated by the new thread over here:

I just received "secret insider" knowledge of a HUGE Sixense announcement coming in 1/2 hour!
New Razer Hydra, or MakeVR? We shall see very soon!
Time to start pounding those F5 web browser page refresh keys?

Perhaps these two parallel threads can be folded together, sorted by post timestamps? - CapyvaraExplorerThe STEM seems to be a body clip on, if so it will remove the need to stay in a absolute position in relation to the base.
- blazespinnakerHonored GuestCould also be a pedometer for tracking things like walking/jogging/jumping/crouching + positional direction.
- MrGeddingsExplorerwireless would def be good since with Rift + headphones we really have enough wires as it is. Id love to get one soon but kinda tapped out on funds right now but maybe in a month. if anyone is getting this soon please post your impressions and the main question of course would be if it solves the "drift" issue a lot of people have with the regular hydra. We shall see!
- DrSnakeProtegeWhen it is available ill get the the second its possible .. :D Will definetly post impressions (i already like the hydra at this moment so it must get better!)

If I were to guess, I bet its going to be at the $300 pricepoint like the Rift. If it works better and has more bells and whistles similar to the Rift, that pricepoint will be pretty incredible. $300 is the sweet spot where gamers are all in.
