[Suggestion] Open Motion Tracking API
There will be a lot of motion tracking input devices & associated APIs out there by the time the Rift arrives, but it will hard for any developer to support more than a few of them & so these devices ...

I've been thinking about something like this. Initially I think the most useful category would be to provide an abstract skeleton to which different inputs can bind. Then the developer can use the skeleton and based on the parts being tracked, adjust overall control schemes.
Then adding new tracking devices would update accuracy or categories of tracking, but the downstream game code could remain unchanged.
Will see if in the coming weeks I can't code up a plugin for UE4 that will be the middle point for hardware to forward skeletal information for vr input.
