Super interesting new toy to play with Oculus Rift!
hi guys, we put it on Kickstarter. We worked really hard to make it affordable and easy to use. Now you guys are able to get this kind of stuff home and play with it. We are exhibiting a few days later at Siggragh 2014, booth 533.

- nuBHonored GuestHow does it work?
What is it's latency?
Does it suffer from drift? - saviorntProtegeIsn't this the 4th or 5th post about this? Once is enough. Stop spamming it.

A quick glance at his posts reveals it's about the 18th post. - conall88Honored GuestI don't think this is within the spirit of the forums; maybe time to get some mods involved.

Granted, but most of the posts are in a single thread, started over a year ago. I don't think it's unreasonable to post a new thread now that the kickstarter is active, although I think the title could be a little better.
Then again, maybe I'm biased, since I have advertising in my sig line.
Buy my book. - 2EyeGuyAdventurerLooks great. And affordable. I already backed it.
I'm looking forward to playing with it and developing for it.
I don't have a problem with people posting kickstarters here. I find it useful.
Also he's giving a special bonus for people who backed the Oculus Rift on Kickstarter, so I think this is a good place to post about it.
I prefer titles give more information about what the post is about though. - 2EyeGuyAdventurerHere's my unofficial attempt at answers:

Tiny accelerometers, gyros, and magnetometers on your fingers, arms, shoulder, etc. measure the 3D angles between each bone and use forward kinematics to easily work out the position of each point."nuB" wrote:

It samples at 60-96 Hz.
Here's a 120FPS video slowed down by a factor of 4.
Note that this is on a convention floor, so extra latency is no doubt being caused by 1) Low end computers for demo purposes, 2) Low end monitors and 3) bad wiring:
I think I saw a better latency video somewhere, but I can't find it now."nuB" wrote:

Probably a little. But it can measure absolute angles the same way the DK1 does with magnetic yaw drift correction, and absolute angles are all it really needs to not drift.

Ahh, another ControlVR
I expect the market is going to be flooded with this type of tracking technology.
I look forward to it when it drops to less than $50 for a pair, which is wear I think we will see market adoption kick off - MickmanProtegeI backed it ... considering the fact the team at P.Neuron are offering DK2 KickStarter Backers the 30 neuron package for the price of a 20 neurone package.. I'm in !!! :) sweet deal.. & only ten days left till there K.S campaign ends..
If I were the owner of a Rift held off on either the Stem system or PrioVR.. this is the one to go for 100%
I also hear that the P.Neuron team is currently in negotiations with Sixense (STEM) to have P.Neuron & Stem operate together
That would be very very cool ...
note: I backed Sixense.. & the Perception Neuron's " 30 Neuron Package" :P - saviorntProtegeWith the amount of spam that came from this project, I didn't back it due to potential of fraud. I'm not saying they're fraudulent, just a gut feeling. To each their own though.
