The SDK is too object oriented

I think a point could be made that there aren't (and don't need to be) a bunch of functions. Also, much of the webwork of abstractions in the SDK is stuff that exists in OS, libraries, and applications already.
Then again, maybe the point is that the SDK is suitable for some people to build C++ demos on top of, while others should just use HIDAPI and implement their own sensor-fusion... ideally leveraging a very thin layer of hardware abstraction for capabilities and tuning values.
