Using Go Pro Silver Edition
Greertings Everyone
Recently got my DK2 and in my excitement I ran out to best buy and picked up a pair of Go Pro Silvers. As I look
throughout the forum topics I see that most people simply go with the black edition. I plan to film some pole-dancing vidoes and from what I've seen on other sites 60fps looked excellent. Do I need more than that? Also, is it possible to use the positional tracker to move around in video? Looking for about 180 degrees left to right and about 90 up and down. If so, what software would you recommend?
Any advice would be highly appreciated. Thank you.

- IsoMacintoshExplorerThe black seems to have fov of 122.6 degrees but no idea about the silver. But if you plan to film in 3d i dont think that 2 silvers will get you a fov of 180 degrees.

The end result will be erotic. Going to keep it simple while I get everything together. - DremucchiHonored GuestI still need some advice if anyone would be so kind...
Thank you - mediavrProtegefor making 3d movies of dancing with Gopros you need the Dual Hero System to sync the cameras accurately
which is for 3 Black [edit: actually not 3 Black] and 3+ Black Gopros only
The standard lenses are about 120 by 80 degrees on a 16:9 format, about 120 by 95 degrees with 1440p (1920 by 1440)
For fisheye 180 movies you need 3rd party ultra fisheyes lens (smaller focal length -- image circles -- than standard)
It is hazardous to do this lens swapping yourself and kind of expensive to have it done.
I have been using lately these lenses which give you full 185 degree circles on 1440p.

Yes 3+ Black only -- sorry! - relaxmanHonored GuestOk, i almost selled my two 3+, and buy old blacks again because of
- exposure lock
- less moire
- usb not write protected
- no flare on lens in some situation
- better details in shadows...etc - DremucchiHonored GuestDamn. So I should probably trade in my pair of silvers asap then hm?
What exactly is 3d syncing? Is there a specific video editing program I'd need to use? I thought maybe there would just be some sort of template I can use in Vegas or Final Cut. Complete noob btw, thank you for your patience. - mediavrProtegePost syncing in software (Pluraleyes etc) is what people with Gopro arrays for 360 movies use but perfect sync is more important in 3d -- as the misync will be manifest in 3d as drastic depth distortion as well as blurring. As Gopros get better -- ie. higher framerates available, this will be more viable for 3d -- but you need like 250 fps for reliable sync with 3d pole dancing. 30fps would be ok for 3d movies of a sloth :) . The Dual Hero System made by Gopro gives perfect sync with Gopro3+ blacks (and Gopro 4 Black and Silver reportedly)
- DremucchiHonored GuestGot to thank you all for your support and advice as it is genuinely appreciated! I went out today to switch out my silver 3's for a Black 3... But... turns out the 4 came out today so in order to avoid any hardware complications I went for it and spent the $450 difference. I am so far from loaded that this was quite the investment for me, in any case, I am dedicated. When done correctly this will be an experience for all to enjoy. I decided not to go for the dual hero system as it seems I can optimize the 3D experience by playing with different lens widths and focal points:

Ready to record and test the output. Once more, what is the highest recommended software for taking what I record and viewing with the oculus at this point?
Special thanks to Mediavr as you've been most informative. No disrespect to anyone else as all info is invaluable.
Thank you all again.
