Viiwok Deva HMD
It's a HMD adapter - To be used with any 7" tablet. It has integrated sensors (6DOF gyrometer/accelerometer) for head tracking, extremely low latency (wireless mouse signal) - it does not use the tablet's sensors, in order not to increase the latency during the signal exchange with the computer. It receives the 3D video feed from the computer wirelessly.
You can use Kainy or Splashtop Gamepad THD. A 802.11n or preferably, a 802.11ac connection is needed. With 802.11n a latency of 50-60ms can be achieved. You can also connect directly using a USB cable.
It can be used to play games, watch movies in 3D or simply browse virtual environments (touristic recreations for example).

- SwordArtOnlineHonored GuestInteresting. One of the biggest issues I have with using my Oculus is the cables. It sure would be amazing if all of the CPU, battery, etc were packed into the actual HMD.
This technically isn't an Oculus development is it? This would be seen as more of a competitor if I am understanding right.
It's very cool. I'm just concerned about the forum in which you chose to present it. - AttreyuHonored GuestIt's more like a hybrid between an HMD and an adapter, because it uses the user's tablet but it has its own sensors.
- AttreyuHonored GuestHere are a couple of pictures with the 3D printed prototype. Of course, the final design will be much more streamlined and ergonomic.

- geekmasterProtegeYou embedded links to HTML web pages. You need to embed the actual images (download link at "size" page). Here is your post, corrected (640x480 images):

EDIT: I see that you replaced your flicker HTML links with tinypic links. 640-wide works better in this forum... - AttreyuHonored GuestYes, they should work now, I've changed the links. Thanks for pointing it out ! :)

I edited my post to actually insert the images, while you switched image hosts. My post above links directly to your (resized) images. If you delete them from flicker, it will break my post...
To embed flicker images, click the "size" icon, then select a size (I chose 640), then right-click/copy the download link to get the actual image URL. They give you auto-resized images of your choice... Your "tinypics" are not tiny enough. - AttreyuHonored GuestSo I see...
