Virtuix Omni gets new support - full crouching.
This image was leaked on Facebook. Not sure where it was taken but Virtuix have confirmed that it's an R&D project they've been working on with a university. Appears to allow full crouching. Not sure if this is being made specifically for the military but maybe it will become available to the public?

Pretty cool eh? I'd love to see a video of this in action :)

- DavideusHonored GuestWow... Cool... but why to stick just military market? :?

- JohnyXHonored GuestBecause family budget will go bankrupt....Interesting concept but Id price it from $2.000 to $4, 500 ( if made heavy duty )...army unit would go 10k+ if they hire good lobby....
But then again.... I suspect it will be hard to sell "high brass" the idea of "special shoes". VO got to come up with universal floor base for all kind of "boots". - DavideusHonored GuestOk... but look at Cyberith Virtualizer - allowing crouching same way + not needs in "special shoes"...
If they competing with standart omni, i would suggest they will be approx in same price point.
BUT you wanna tell me that new "military" omni with some additional metal tubes must cost 2-4k$ ??? :( - JohnyXHonored GuestYou make it sound so easy.....just few more tubes.
I will give you formula: Company pitching product for military = High chance average Joe cannot afford it. - ScratchHonored GuestI agree with Davideus, Cyberith Virtualizer actually looks like a better version of this thing and they thought it (moving support ring) first. It may cost more than consumer omni when released, but certainly not 2-4k. This military omni is not looking good...
- BlackMageHonored GuestI can't be the only one who thinks an affordable moving support ring is a good way for smashing your face into something you can't see when you lose your footing on a low friction surface.

Yes I meant this "mil or gym grade" Omni rig to be 2-4k price tag. I will agree that Cyberith would cost no more than cv Omni. - FritoExplorerSo they copied Cyberith? Nice Jan.........

- cerebralHonored GuestGlad he went on improving. VR is coming baby!
Not glad he hasnt refused to work with military. - phosstonHonored GuestThis looks pretty ridiculous and expensive, why wouldn't you just go straight for the Cyberith Virtualizer? Already offers crouching, jumping, sitting and is way more compact and cheaper than that... abomination.
